This Sunday, the Parque de la Hispanidad in Leganés will welcome spring with a popular tree planting event of over 100 trees. The City Council, planning to plant 700 specimens between March and April, invites residents to join this green celebration full of activities.
A day to plant and enjoy
The day includes children’s workshops, face painting, a concert by the SinSalida group, a photo booth, distribution of plants and water, and open days at urban gardens. Species such as melias, holm oaks, olive trees, and almond trees will take center stage in the planting, supported by Save the Children, Red Cross, and other organizations.

More trees for a sustainable Leganés
In addition to this event, the municipality will add 500 trees on streets like Zamora, Naples, and Fuenlabrada, removing stumps from 128 tree pits. «We are looking for a greener and healthier environment, capturing CO2 and creating shade,» emphasizes Violeta Bonet, Councilor for the Environment.
Activities all week
The calendar continues: on Wednesday, 9 trees in the Olive Grove Park; on Thursday, 40 holm oaks and oaks with schools; and on April 4, 50 specimens with Kubota. «It is a commitment to sustainability and quality of life,» emphasizes Bonet.
