Madrid’s streets will once again turn pink this Sunday with the celebration of one of the female sports events that has become a benchmark in the region.
Around 36,000 people will participate in the XXI Women’s Race, which will start at 9 am on Paseo de la Castellana (between Nuevos Ministerios and Plaza de San Juan de la Cruz).

At the starting line, a tribute will be paid to Madrid’s taekwondo athlete Adriana Cerezo. The athlete from Alcalá, silver medalist in the -49 kg category in Tokyo 2020 at just 17 years old and a favorite to repeat the podium at the Paris 2024 Olympics, faced a tough blow in the Parisian capital, being eliminated in the quarterfinals against the Iranian Mobina Nematzade. Cerezo from Alcalá de Henares has bounced back and started 2025 by becoming the Spanish champion in Córdoba, leaving behind the disappointment of the Olympics.
Following the tribute to Adriana Cerezo, the race will begin covering a route of approximately 6.5 kilometers in a maximum time of 90 minutes through some of the most iconic places in the capital, such as the Gran Vía, concluding at the traditional finish line on Paseo de Camoens (Parque del Oeste).
After the race, at Parque del Oeste, both participants and spectators can enjoy a fitness and aerobics festival, as well as live music performances.
The goal of this event, once again, is to promote running and aerobic exercise among women of all ages, fight against cancer, raise funds for research and raise awareness about the importance of early prevention, as well as combat gender violence and the social and educational inequalities that women face in all areas.

It has also been announced the holding of a children’s race called ‘Mini Marea Rosa’, which will take place on Saturday, May 10th, starting at 5:30 pm at the indoor track of the Centro Deportivo Municipal Gallur, where the Corredora Fair will also be held, and where registered participants can pick up their bib for Sunday.

Girls and boys aged 0 to 12 can participate in different age categories. The races are non-competitive: everyone will wear bib number 1 and receive a medal upon crossing the finish line.
Registration costs €5, and all proceeds go to the A LA PAR Foundation, which works for the rights and participation of people with intellectual disabilities, creating opportunities.
Those who do not participate in the race but wish to support their charitable goals can do so by purchasing one of the 100% solidarity bibs that the organization will sell for €20.95 to benefit the Sandra Ibarra Foundation.
