Two thieves have robbed two jewelry stores with sledgehammers after breaking in with a stolen Audi at the Parquesur shopping center in Leganés. The Police are still looking for the perpetrators of this movie-like robbery.
The robbers entered with a car at high speed in broad daylight, around 10:45 am, with hundreds of customers in the aisles.

In a matter of minutes, the thieves, covered with balaclavas and armed with sledgehammers, got out of the car and smashed the displays of one of the jewelry stores and managed to take several trays amidst the disbelief of the customers.
They took diamonds, 18-karat gold. Officers from the National Police Station of Leganés took less than two minutes to arrive, but the thieves had already vanished. An employee of the jewelry store had to be treated for an anxiety attack.

In the video recorded by people who were there, you can see the actions of the thieves, who took entire counters while a witness confronted them. There were no injuries, but a lot of tension.
The car was found burning in Perales del Río, in Getafe. The license plates were stolen.
Modus operandi similar to other robberies
This is not the first time a group of criminals has used this modus operandi. In August 2002, at the La Gavia shopping center, in the Ensanche de Vallecas neighborhood in Madrid, a robbery took place in broad daylight, at 11:00 am.
Four hooded men, wearing gloves and armed with a gun, sledgehammers, and fire extinguishers, robbed the Roselin jewelry store, where an employee was present but couldn’t prevent the thieves from taking several items and fleeing in a vehicle.
