
Alcobendas inaugurated a monument dedicated to the memory of traffic accident victims in the Fuentelucha park on Thursday, with a monolith and a plaque in remembrance of those affected.
The councilor of Security, Civil Protection, Emergencies, and Mobility, Carlos Rodrigo, recalled that thousands of people lose their lives on the road every year and emphasized that “road safety is a great commitment” for Alcobendas.

Therefore, the Council highlights in a note that they continue to work to reinforce road education, improve infrastructure, and ensure that traffic rules are effectively respected.
According to the councilor, these efforts contributed to Alcobendas reaching the «zero victims» figure in traffic accidents last year.
Two fourth-grade students from Greenwich school participated in the inauguration ceremony, reading a manifesto written by Flor Zapata, a mother of one of these victims, demanding that the municipal government “support policies aimed at improving road safety and reducing accidents with victims.”
