Promoting the construction of public housing in Alcobendas is a priority objective of the municipal government team. To achieve this, they have developed an ambitious plan that foresees 10,000 new homes in ten years.
The city council, through the Municipal Housing Company (Emvialsa), is developing new developments that reflect a strong commitment to the present and future of its residents. The construction of rental housing continues to progress to meet the needs of citizens.
41 homes in Marqués de la Valdavia
The third development that is being launched in the current term and will be built at Calle Marqués de la Valdavia, 47, is taking its first steps. The drafting of the project is already completed, and the bidding for the construction works will take place shortly.
Emvialsa is promoting this project to build 41 rental homes: 21 with one bedroom, 16 with two bedrooms, and four with three bedrooms. Two homes are adapted for people with reduced mobility.

The building will consist of five floors plus two underground floors for 41 parking spaces. Additionally, it will have a centralized installation to provide heating and cooling services to the accommodations, using aerothermal pumps.
They will benefit from radiant-cooling flooring, pre-installation for electric vehicle charging, and an exterior thermal insulation facade.
Alcobendas will have the promised mental health center
Last February, the 39 public housing rental units on Avenida de España, 8 were raffled, and soon the agreements with the beneficiaries will be signed. The construction is completed, awaiting the first occupancy license. Keys are expected to be handed over in September.
This building consists of four homes with one bedroom, 23 with two bedrooms, and 12 with three bedrooms, including two adapted units for people with reduced mobility.
36 housing units with services
Alongside these developments, Emvialsa is promoting two other public housing projects for rent. In Valdelasfuentes, on Calle Dr. Ángel Olivares, 36 housing units with services have been under construction since last October. The registration period is pending to open, and they will be raffled during this term.
These units are intended for different groups: seniors, youth, or families from disadvantaged groups or with special needs. The construction will be completed in the spring of 2026.
Work begins to transform the old landfill in Alcobendas into a forest park
On Diego Salmerón Street, Emvialsa will promote the construction of another 30 homes for rent. The bidding for the project drafting will take place in the coming months. This would be the fourth promotion.
These initiatives solidify a municipal strategy aimed at providing real housing solutions, designed for youth, seniors, families, and individuals with special needs.
VIVE Young Solution Plan
The City Council has allocated two plots to the Community of Madrid for the VIVE Young Solution Plan, for the construction of over 700 homes.
One in the North District, on Avenida de Camilo José Cela, where 390 apartments will be built, and another in the Urbanizations District, on Olímpica Avenue, with an additional 350 units. These will be rental homes – with a rent 30% below market price – and with an accelerated construction process.
Valgrande, the answer to the housing issue
The Valgrande project, which includes the construction of 8,600 new homes (over half of which will be public housing), continues to progress following the municipal approval in 2024 of the Reparcellation Project for the sector that transforms the original estates into plots.
The Valgrande Compensation Board is finalizing the drafting of the urbanization projects that define the works to be carried out in public spaces, as well as the necessary infrastructures for the connection and distribution of various services and supplies.
With a total investment of 2.3 billion euros between land and urbanization, private construction, equipment, and public facilities, Valgrande is a project that will create accessible housing in our municipality, addressing a significant demand from residents.

Valgrande is also a project committed to sustainability, transformative, and a job generator.
It will feature around 600,000 square meters of green areas, integrating into the municipality through best urban planning practices (environmental protection, mobility, technology use, and infrastructure management), creating over 4,000 jobs during construction and 1,000 permanent positions once completed.
