A survey conducted by GAD3 for ‘ABC’ indicates that the PP of José Luis Martínez-Almeida leads the intention of vote in the capital (48.5%) and, in municipal elections, would strengthen its current absolute majority by adding one more councilor (30), while the PSOE-M would take over the leadership of the opposition from Más Madrid.
The survey, based on 657 interviews conducted between April 15 and 24, indicates that the PP would improve its voting percentage by four points compared to the 2023 elections, when it obtained 44.5%.
Polls on May 2: Ayuso would consolidate her absolute majority if elections were held today
The other party that would see a significant improvement is the PSOE-M of Reyes Maroto, which would go from 16.8% achieved in 2023 (with 11 councilors) to 19.5% (with 12 councilors).
On the other hand, Más Madrid, led by Rita Maestre, would lose two seats (from 12 to 10) as their voting percentage decreases from 19.1% in 2023 to 16.9%.
The setback of the left as a bloc would be completed by Podemos, which in 2023 came close to obtaining representation in Cibeles (gathered 4.9% of the votes and needed 5%) but now moves away from the goal, with an estimated vote of 2.9%.
Finally, Vox would remain stable in its numbers: Javier Ortega Smith’s party would slightly improve its voting percentage (from 9.1% in 2023 to 9.3%) but not enough to increase the five councilors it currently has in the legislature.
