“Although the works benefit everyone, they sometimes cause irreparable damage to small and family businesses. That is why, as an Administration, we must take responsibility for the harm caused. Because we are here to help, not to cause more harm,” he pointed out during his intervention at the VI Forum for Entrepreneurs and Self-Employed organized by the National Federation of Self-Employed Workers Associations (ATA).
These grants will have an initial allocation of 500,000 euros and will be aimed at small and medium-sized businesses in the commercial and service sectors, located in the direct affected area of these public infrastructure improvement works owned by the autonomous community. In this sense, they will cover 100% of the expenses related to the routine operation of these businesses, such as mortgage payments or rent for the establishment, as well as the costs of insurance associated with the premises or required for their activity.
The Official Gazette of the Community of Madrid (BOCM) has published today the Strategic Plan of this program for 2025/26 and, in the coming weeks, will announce its regulatory framework and the summary of the call for proposals, which will open the deadline for the submission of applications and will provide all the necessary details and requirements.
Currently, the regional government is carrying out the expansion works of Line 11 of the Madrid Metro to transform it into a major diagonal of the capital, which will cross the city from the new developments in the northeast in Valdebebas to the southwest in Cuatro Vientos. With an investment of 518 million euros and an estimated completion date for 2027, the first phase of this project includes the construction of two new stations in Comillas and Madrid Rio and three new connections with Atocha, Palos de la Frontera, and Conde de Casal.
