The Vice Mayor of Madrid and municipal spokesperson, Inma Sanz, has announced that the license for the Formula 1 circuit will be granted «sometime today» Thursday and has criticized the «sad and bitter» left that «cannot stand the city being in vogue.»
«They cannot stand that everyone wants to come to Madrid at this moment to bring their events. It’s a city, a place where you have to be in the world right now, and that sad and bitter left cannot stand it. However, they are perfectly fine with millions of euros of public funds being allocated to the same project in another region of Spain,» she stated in a press conference following the Government Council.
She expressed this after the Municipal Group of Más Madrid announced that they will file an administrative appeal with the Superior Court of Justice of Madrid (TSJM) against the Special Plan to hold the Formula 1 in Ifema Madrid and request its provisional suspension until there is a ruling.
«Sometime today, it is expected that that license will be granted and the next steps can be taken so that starting next year, that great prize that we are convinced will be one of the best in the world can be incorporated. It is being prepared in the best possible way,» she stated.

Ayuso’s Support
The President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, backed the arrival of Formula 1 in Madrid on Thursday and assured that «the expense will be infinitely less than the damage» that the PSOE «caused with their parties at the Teruel parador.»
The president stated that the Community continues to work on the prize and defended that it is «the region that attracts the most cultural events, which has had record figures for tourism during Holy Week.»
«Formula 1 has an economic impact of 450 million euros on the Madrid economy. Every year, 112,000 spectators will be here in person, with 35% coming from other parts of the world. It will create 8,200 direct jobs. Who wouldn’t do anything to have a Formula 1?» she added.

The Madrid president indicated that it is an event that has «more than 90 million fans worldwide» and condemned the left for not supporting these types of competitions because they «cannot stand the joy, the light, and the openness.»
The new circuit will have a total length of 5,400 meters, of which 4,100 meters will run through the grounds of the Exhibition Fair of the capital (IFEMA MADRID) and another 1,300 meters through public roads.
