During an event held at the Real Casa de Correos, headquarters of the regional government, Díaz Ayuso criticized those who describe Spain as a «macho country» while remaining silent in the face of «unspeakable abuses and crimes in the world». According to the president of Madrid, at least in the Western world, women and men have managed to «change things, live freely and equally before the law and opportunities». «There are always many battles to conquer, but we must be fair in valuing everything achieved,» she emphasized.
«Many of us do not want to be victimized in an eternal childhood that underestimates us condescendingly,» she claimed, also condemning the attempt to «erase genders» and the «Spanish version of the world». «We are not going to give up our greatest wealth, a world of men and women who complement each other, seek each other, and need each other,» she added.
