The Dirección General de Tráfico (DGT) has launched two new section radars on Monday on the M-521, which connects Navalagamella and Fresnedillas de la Oliva, in the Western Sierra of the Community of Madrid, between kilometer points 26.915 to 27.885 and 27.885 to 26.915.
This is one of the 17 new radars that have started operating on Monday on roads in Castilla y León, Castilla-La Mancha, Comunidad Valenciana, Andalucía, Canarias, and the Community of Madrid, of which nine are fixed and eight are section radars, according to the DGT.
Traffic has reminded that these new speed control points are signaled on the road, published on the DGT website, and their locations made available to operators to include them in their browsers.
During the first month of operation, drivers traveling at a speed higher than the one allowed on the roads where these new radars are located will receive an informational letter warning them that they have been caught by a speed radar.
After that time, the driver who exceeds the speed limit will be fined and will receive a fine with the corresponding amount.

They are part of the Plan that the Dirección General de Tráfico is implementing with the installation of 122 new speed control points on roads and high-occupancy lanes by 2025.
Specifically, two radars have been launched in Castilla y León: The first, fixed, is located in the province of León on the LE311, at kilometer point (PK) 11+250; and the second, section radar, is located in Salamanca, on the SA20 (from PK 91+975 to 92+436).
Regarding the Comunidad Valenciana, Traffic has activated three section radars: in Castellón, on the N340 (from 960+050 to 961+000 PK), and on the same road between points 961+000 and 960+050; in Valencia, another section radar has started operating on the V31 (from point 2+460 C to 6+350).
Likewise, three fixed speed cameras are already operational in Andalucía. In this case, they are located on the A-491 (Cádiz) at point 4+350; and in Sevilla, on the A-49 at point 0+700 and on the A-8005 at point 5+818.
In Tenerife (Canarias), Traffic has activated five radars. The three fixed ones are on the TF5 (PK 49,400), TF66 (PK 9,000), and TF65 (PK 11,240). The section radars, on the other hand, are located on the TF655 (from 2,165 to 3,132) and TF655 (from 3,132 to 2,165).
The DGT has activated two more fixed radars in Castilla-La Mancha: one in Guadalajara on the CM101 (PK 17,460) and in Toledo on the CM4010 (PK 1,800).
