The parish church of San Ildefonso y Santos Niños Justo y Pastor, located at Calle Colón, 16, has hosted a penitential Via Crucis this Friday of Lent organized by the Hermandad de la Borriquita.
The event, initially planned to take place through the neighborhood streets, had to be moved to the interior of the temple due to the heavy rains affecting the city.
The Via Crucis, a deeply rooted tradition in Holy Week, allowed the faithful to meditate on the moments and sufferings experienced by Jesus from his capture to his death on the cross and subsequent resurrection.
On this occasion, the members of the Hermandad de la Borriquita and the faithful who joined in prayer recalled, with love and gratitude, the sacrifice of Christ to save humanity from sin.

The penitential prayer began around 8:00 p.m., just after the 7:00 p.m. Eucharist. Although the bad weather prevented the procession from taking place through the neighborhood streets as planned, the atmosphere inside the church was one of recollection and devotion.
The original itinerary would have included Plaza San Ildefonso, the streets of San Joaquín, Fuencarral, and Colón, before returning to the temple.
The Hermandad de la Borriquita, known for its active participation in Holy Week celebrations, once again demonstrated its commitment to the parish community and its ability to adapt to circumstances to keep alive the religious tradition.
Despite the inclement weather, the Via Crucis was a moment of deep reflection and prayer for all attendees, who renewed their faith and commitment to Christian values.
This event is part of Lenten activities, a time of spiritual preparation for Easter, reflecting the importance of tradition and community in the religious life of the neighborhood.
