The remodeling of the Plaza de Olavide and its surroundings has been awarded the 2025 City Award from Open House Madrid in the Urban Design category, as reported by the City Council of Madrid in a statement.
The jury has particularly appreciated the «innovative nature of this intervention that has transformed an emblematic enclave in the Chamberí district» through the improvement of environmental quality, accessibility, and urban landscape.
Upon completion, the project has created a meeting place for the neighbors, as conveyed by the City Council, «integrating different generations and promoting a new way of understanding, using, and enjoying public space.»
