This Sunday the rain has given a break, but many houses are still flooding, streets are impassable, rivers are overflowing, and the worst part is that it’s going to keep raining. Three roads remain closed to traffic.
In Alpedrete, the M-620 road remains closed, the Canal de Isabel II is pumping water in the area and warns that it will continue to be closed to traffic, while in Galapagar they are trying to return to normalcy after the rise of the Guadarrama River.
The overflowing of the river at the Herreño bridge has affected the homes located on its banks. The firefighters of the Community of Madrid have had to intervene, using pumps to remove the accumulated water in basements and garages. They have also unclogged the sewers to facilitate water absorption.
Three residents relocated in Galapagar due to the overflow of the Guadarrama River
Three residents had to be relocated to a rural house in the municipality after being evacuated in Los Negrales, Alpedrete. In Collado Villalba, yesterday they closed the Los Molinos bridge. The water was reaching the road, although by this morning the water level had decreased, but it was still flowing with great force.
