Although Madrid does not have a beach, water lovers have an ideal option in the Community: the only municipal wave pool in all of Spain, located at the Juan Antonio Samaranch Sports Complex in Torrejón de Ardoz. This refreshing place has become the favorite destination to beat the summer heat, offering a fun and safe experience for the whole family.
The complex has three pools that cater to the needs of all visitors:
- The first one is the lap pool, a modern metallic tank with eight lanes and measuring 25 meters. «It is used both in summer and winter,» explains Paco, one of the complex’s managers.
- For the little ones, the children’s pool is ideal, with a depth of only 0.30 meters. «It is important that they are always supervised by an adult,» adds Paco. This measure ensures the safety of the children while they enjoy the water.
- However, the true star of the complex is the wave pool. This gem activates its waves through an air propulsion mechanism that generates waves at a consistent intensity. The waves last for ten minutes and are activated after the sound of a siren.
