The people of Madrid’s Cines Embajadores will celebrate their fifth anniversary this week with a lineup consisting of unique screenings of classic and modern films and surprise events to thank their audience for the loyalty shown over all this time.
The celebration of this milestone will include screenings of the five most-watched films at Cines Embajadores over the past five years: ‘Cinco lobitos’ (July 7, 10:00 PM), ‘La infiltrada’ (July 8, 10:00 PM), ‘El 47’ (July 9, 10:00 PM), ‘Anatomía de una caída’ (July 10, 10:00 PM), and ‘El buen patrón’ (July 11, 10:00 PM).
The audience will also have the opportunity to enjoy the first film ever screened in these cinema halls: ‘Cinema Paradiso’ (July 7, 7:45 PM). It is worth noting that Cines Embajadores opened its doors in the midst of a pandemic after a fire.
As part of the ‘Embajadores Voyage’ series, ‘Mamma Mia! The Movie’ will be screened (July 9, 8:00 PM), in a session that will feature a cocktail and boarding pass. There will also be a ‘Movie Bingo’ event (July 10, 8:00 PM), presented by La Caneli, where the audience can win prizes by guessing movies and marking numbers on their bingo cards.
A new cinema opens in Embajadores after confinement
In ‘Proyecto Viridiana‘, the film ‘Un like para Bob Trevino’ will be shown (July 10, 8:00 PM), followed by an online discussion with Tracie Laymon. This fifth anniversary will feature a double bill of ‘Cine para perdedores’, where Esty Quedada will present ‘Ghost World’ in a special anniversary session (July 13, 6:00 PM and 8:30 PM).
Likewise, there will be a special screening of ‘Casper’ (July 12, 12:00 PM), in a morning session for families and friends; and there will also be a ‘Mommy and Me Session‘ for mothers and fathers with their babies, who will enjoy the premiere of the film ‘Elio’ (July 10, 12:00 PM) in a baby-friendly environment with adjusted lighting and sound.
The summer classic season will kick off with a delayed screening of ‘The Magic Flute‘ (July 10, 9:00 PM) from the Salzburg Festival.
Finally, the culmination of this milestone celebration will be an anniversary party at Sala Villanos, featuring DJ Juliabad and promising surprises. There will also be a ‘Tiny Desk Session’, where live music from emerging artists will be heard in the Cines Embajadores for the first time.
