Today, the Fiestas de San Isidro 2025 de Alcobendas have been presented. As tradition dictates, around Plaza del Pueblo, a special magazine with the entire program has been distributed.
Marta Martín, acting mayor, accompanied by several councilors from the government team, handed the magazine to the neighbors, who, from May 14 to 18, will experience intense days of fair, shows, concerts, sports, pilgrimage, booths… This year, the City Council has prepared a program of activities with proposals for all ages but thinking, especially, of the youngest and their families.
Novelties
The government team continues to support families in all areas, and, with the aim that everyone, young and old, can have fun at the fairground attractions, one of the most important novelties this year is that on Sunday, May 18, there will be special and reduced prices throughout the day: 2 euros for family attractions and 2.50 for adults. This initiative is part of the Family Day, on Sunday, May 18, a day that the municipal government established last year during the festivities, which was a great success, and for which shows for children and adults, parades, balloon twisting, face painting, healthy habits workshops have been prepared… In addition, a free paella will be prepared for over a thousand people.
For the first time this year, a bar serving drinks will be installed next to the main stage during the concerts, and also, as a novelty, there will be a booth with gluten-free products for people with intolerances.
Free Concerts
The inauguration of the fairground at Parque de Andalucía, the heart of the festivities, will be on Wednesday, May 14, at 8:30 pm, with the concert by Dj Pulpo. After that, around 9:15 pm, the lights of the fairground will be lit, after which the music and energy of Dj Pulpo will continue. The main stage will host concerts by groups such as Los Secretos, Fangoria, Malmö 40, Encanto de Loco (tribute to El Canto del Loco), Walls, or the Vulkano Orchestra. In addition, this year, the auxiliary stage will offer interesting proposals, with a diverse range of music and groups that will make us sing and dance to the rhythm of great versions from the eighties, nineties… and more. Again, there will be vermouth sessions, with concerts at 1:30 pm (Los Inspectores, Darwin, and Cosa de Dos), and afternoon sessions, at 7 pm (Juan Peña).
And, to enjoy with the family, there are also great proposals, among which the show CantaJuego: Mi amiga Buby, which will be on Sunday, May 18, at 12 pm, on the main stage, stands out.
Of course, all performances at the fairground will be free.
Imagina Kids
Returning, after the success of last year, Imagina Kids, the municipal booth that will be at the fairground and where, throughout all the festivities, there will be proposals to have fun with the family: workshops (decoration of pots, leaf stamping, fans, photo frames, etc.), storytelling, games, scavenger hunts, dance battles, and chotis… All activities are free, upon prior registration, starting an hour before at the booth.
Young Area
The youngest will once again enjoy their own space within the fairground: the young area, and, more specifically, the Imagina Sound program, where fun is guaranteed and the music will not stop playing thanks to the proposals prepared by Imagina, in collaboration with the Alcobendas Youth Council.
In this space, from Wednesday, May 14 to Saturday, May 17, every day, starting at 7 pm, there will be three concerts. And for the party-goers, the fun and music will continue into the early hours. Thus, on the 14th, 16th, and 17th, from 1:30 am to 3 am, there will be a DJ session with DJ Zamarra, DJ Alex Cid, Dj Zayas, and Dj Danfer.
Safe Festivities
More than 150 Local Police officers will ensure that neighbors can enjoy their patron saint festivities in peace. The security operation also includes National Police officers and members of the Civil Protection Volunteers Group. This year, as a novelty, a drone with a people concentration calculator will be incorporated to prevent scenarios that exceed the allowed capacity, and a Local Police post will be set up in the attractions area.
We will have a Civil Protection field hospital and the SEMURA ambulances will be operational 24 hours for any emergencies. In addition, there will be a Mobile Citizen Attention Office of the Local Police at the entrance to the fairground; support will be provided by the Canine Unit and the Puma Group (specialized in security controls in spaces with large concentrations) and by officers specialized in gender violence. All this is complemented by the fact that the fairground will have 24-hour surveillance, and at the Civil Protection Assistance post, identification bracelets will be given to minors.
Cleaning
The Alcobendas City Council prioritizes the cleanliness of the city, and, therefore, increases resources, personnel, and services in special moments like the San Isidro festivities. This year, in addition to the usual daily cleaning services of the city, 29 people, including drivers, specialists, and laborers, will form the special cleaning and waste collection team for the festivities. The municipal operation will use more than 150 containers of various sizes to promote waste separation and recycling of packaging, paper, cardboard, and glass.
There will also be collection of domestic oil at the booths with catering service, which will have a small container that will be removed when the fair ends. Two collection trucks, in addition to the specific one with a Ecovidrio crane, will be responsible daily for collecting all the waste from the fairground, and a hydrocleaner van for cleaning the hundred and a half containers.
