
A total of six processions will fill the streets of Aranjuez with devotion during Holy Week, where, for the first time, the Transfer of the Virgin of the Encounter from the Parish of San Pascual will also take place on April 12 at 7:15 p.m.
This was highlighted by the City Council in a statement, where it was also mentioned that another novelty this year will be the reinforcement of the Holy Tuesday procession with another float, The Agony in the Garden.
Thus, the start of Holy Week will be marked by the Prelude this Friday, given by the mayor, Miguel Gómez Herrero, at 8:00 p.m. at the Parish of Our Lady of Sorrows. «It is an honor and a deep emotion for me to be the Preacher of Holy Week 2025. Thank you for trusting me,» expressed the mayor.

In addition to the processions, the Holy Week program includes other proposals such as concerts and guided tours of the churches. Specifically, those who wish to explore the city’s heritage can participate in a series of guided tours of the temples on April 17.
The tour will start at the Royal Palace Chapel at 10 a.m. and will continue through the parishes of San Antonio, San Pascual, and Our Lady of Sorrows (Alpajés), ending around 2 p.m.
Interested individuals can register at the Tourist Office by visiting in person, Monday to Friday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. They can also reserve one of the 50 spots by calling 918 91 04 27.
Furthermore, the municipal program includes the ‘Procession Marches Concert‘ by the Band of the Joaquín Rodrigo Municipal Music School. It will take place on April 4 at 7 p.m. at the Isabel de Farnesio Cultural Center Auditorium. The entrance fee is 3 euros.
Finally, the Teatro Real Carlos III will host the ‘Holy Week Concert‘ on April 5 at 8 p.m., featuring the collaboration of the Corral de Almaguer Music Band, Magerit Choir, Enrique Granados Choir, and the Royal Chapel of Aranjuez.
