
Following yesterday’s blackout across the Iberian Peninsula, Alcobendas has returned to normalcy and is now operating at 95% capacity.
The Crisis Cabinet, composed of the Local Police, Civil Protection, and heads of the city’s main services and chaired by acting mayor Marta Martín, convened immediately upon learning of the widespread blackout to coordinate all emergency services and necessary actions to address the crisis situation.
The Cabinet has been operational throughout the night and continues to conduct supervision work in different areas:
Mobility and Transportation
• All traffic lights in Alcobendas are back in operation following yesterday’s blackout.
• The DGT recommends avoiding driving today unless strictly necessary and, if driving, exercising extreme caution until full normalcy is restored.
• Public transportation is encouraged. Cercanías, intercity buses, EMT, and Metro services are free of charge.
• Metro de Madrid started services at eight in the morning and is operating at 80%, while Cercanía is at 50% capacity.
Security
• Absolute normalcy in Alcobendas with no incidents reported overnight.
• Increased presence of National Police and Local Police.
• SEMURA and Civil Protection Alcobendas are operating at maximum emergency capacity for patient transfers and reinforcement in elderly residences.
Education
• Public schools remain open without teaching activities to facilitate childcare, and meal services are guaranteed.
Health
• The Health Department of the Community of Madrid reported no incidents in Madrid hospitals overnight, and full power supply has been restored.
• Healthcare activities have resumed normally in all centers.
Cleaning
• Waste collection and cleaning teams are operating at 100% capacity.
Elderly
• All elderly centers in Alcobendas are open and operating normally.
• The telecare service is functioning at 100%, with ongoing contact with users.
Citizen Service
Operating normally during regular hours.
Municipal Facilities
All sports facilities, cultural centers, and mediatecas are open and functioning normally.
