Many people arrived late to work or appointments this Wednesday due to a fault at Atocha station reported early in the morning.
Delays have affected the Cercanías network lines in Madrid passing through the Recoletos tunnel, namely C-2, C-7, C-8, and C-10.

The incident was reported around 07:30 am at the Atocha Cercanías railway infrastructure. Specifically, it was an intermittent fault in the AT10 track circuit, as explained by Renfe to Europa Press.
At 09:25, there was also an occupation of the A2 track circuit.
As a result, the authorization for signal overrun was granted for trains coming from Madrid Chamartín through the Recoletos tunnel.
As the morning progressed, trains resumed their normal frequency.
