San Sebastián de los Reyes officially presented the emblematic sweets during the final ceremony of the «San Sebastián Arrow» competition. In this way, this dessert becomes the gastronomic symbol of the municipality, destined to be recognized and enjoyed by residents and visitors of future festivities.
The event was organized by the local council in collaboration with the Business Association of Acenoma and had the participation of nine local units and entities. This aims to become a representative sweet of the city.
Starting January 17, residents and tourists had the opportunity to taste the different proposals at the event, culminating in the selection of the winner.

Finally, the prize was awarded to Emilita, located on José Hierro Street, 19 years old, with a prize of 1,000 euros and the responsibility of revealing the winning recipe, which was officially registered as a typical sweet of the municipality. From now on, any local bakery can prepare and sell this delicious dessert.
«The best prize is to have the pride of representing this city with this dessert that has opened our hearts and will last in history. I have no words,» says Fernando, the creator of this winning sweet.
The patron saint festivities leave a 4 million economic impact
This sweet was called «the arrow of San Sebastián» because it was this element, the arrow, in the iconography of the artistic representations of the patron saint, San Sebastián Mártir.
With this initiative, San Sebastián de los Reyes seeks not only to strengthen its cultural identity but also to stimulate local commerce, transforming this sweet into a new attraction for both residents and visitors to the city.
