A new mobilization of the residents of Tres Cantos and Colmenar Viejo against the installation of a biogas plant just a few meters from their homes. This Saturday’s mobilization adds to a national call, where dozens of groups will demand the immediate halt of all biogas and biomethane plant projects in our country.
The demonstration was held under the slogan ‘Not so big, not so close’. The mobilization adds to the calls against projects of this kind. The protest marched from Avenida de España to Plaza de Antonio Gala.

They aim to reject the planned installation near the Colmenar Viejo landfill and within its municipal area but a few kilometers from the homes of the neighboring municipality of Tres Cantos. The platform has been denouncing «the opacity, technical irregularities, and the health and environmental risks that this project entails.»
They oppose the size of the plant and a location that affects more than 110,000 people.
