The La Vuelta Ciclista a la Comunidad de Madrid Sub23, the most important event at national level in this category, has chosen Alcobendas, European City of Sports 2025, as the venue for its final stage: an individual time trial of 11.6 kilometers that will take place on July 12. Starting and finishing at the Valdelasfuentes Sports City, the race will begin at 10:30 a.m.
Organized by the Madrid Cycling Federation, with the support of the Community of Madrid and the six participating municipalities, the Vuelta will start on July 8 and will pass through the Madrid municipalities of Valdemorillo, Alcalá de Henares, Chinchón, Galapagar, and San Lorenzo de El Escorial in its initial stages. Over 140 cyclists will compete for this prestigious title, which was won by Pablo Bonilla from Team Cortizo last year. More information at: www.vueltamadrid.com.
Traffic Closures
The passage of the race will require traffic closure and regulation measures throughout that day.
With the start and finish at the Valdelasfuentes Sports City, the race circuit will extend to the Autonomous University, causing the M-616 road to be closed entirely from 10 a.m.
The streets within the circuit must be free of parked vehicles. Residents of Fuente Lucha and Valdelasfuentes will not be able to cross the circuit, so to access their homes, they will need to enter through Marqués de la Valdavia and Paseo de la Chopera.
The complete closure of the circuit where the race will take place will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The route towards Madrid will be operational through the tunnel of Paseo de la Chopera, Avenida de España, or any of the streets in the Industrial Estate. To head towards Tres Cantos or Colmenar Viejo, drivers will need to access the Fuencarral road (M-603) to connect to the Colmenar Highway.
Bus lines C-10 and C-11 will be significantly affected, as well as 827, 828, 827A, and 157C. For trips to Madrid, the use of the metro (line 10) and Cercanías (C-4) is recommended.
