Rain will give Madrid a brief respite but will return by the end of Wednesday
In fact, as a preventive measure, on Wednesday night, a group of 25 residents were evacuated from Coslada, as explained on ‘Good Morning, Madrid’ by Luis Rincón, a firefighter inspector from the Community of Madrid. «They are expected to return home, probably around noon,» he added.
«The night has passed relatively calmly. There was an expected rise in both the Jarama and Henares rivers, which occurred in a gradual and progressive manner as expected. Monitoring was carried out throughout the night and it behaved as expected,» he assured.
Maximum rain alert continues in Madrid: level 1 of the flood plan reactivated
«Right now, we still have a peak in the Jarama river that will reach San Fernando in approximately two hours. The Henares is currently between Alcalá and Torrejón at its peak, so we may still have some kind of incident,» Rincón explained.
