Eventos, música en vivo y magia en la Noche de San Juan

Tonight, the Community of Madrid is getting ready to celebrate the magical Night of San Juan, filling its streets and squares with bonfires, music, and traditions. On the night of June 23 to 24, residents and visitors can enjoy a plethora of activities in various districts of the capital and municipalities of the region, where fire will be the main focus of this ancient festivity.

This is how the capital and the main municipalities of the Community of Madrid celebrate:

Madrid Capital

Ciudad Lineal District:Bonfires: Two bonfires will be lit this year, one in Parque El Flori (Cidamón, 15th Street, San Juan Bautista neighborhood) and another one in Derechos Humanos Street (fairground, San Pascual neighborhood).

• When: Night of June 23, starting at 11:00 pm.
• Activities: Concerts (such as Iguana Rock or Callejón 80), parades, children’s workshops, flamenco shows, rap battles, and a bike ride. The activities extend from June 20 to 22.
• Exact location: Parque El Flori (Avenida de la Paz Metro, L4) and Derechos Humanos Street (Barrio de la Concepción Metro, L7).

Retiro District:Bonfires: Traditional bonfire on Narváez Street (between Doce de Octubre Street and Ibiza Street).

• When: Night of June 23, starting at 11:00 pm.
• Activities: Concerts (such as La Guardia), Spanish dance performances, DJ sessions with Raúl Vilar, birdwatching workshops, yoga, traditional Madrid dance, and a popular race. The festivities take place from June 20 to 22 with free admission until full capacity.
• Exact location: Narváez Street, near Retiro Park.

Villa de Vallecas District:Bonfires: Family show with a symbolic bonfire in Santa Eugenia Park (Zazuar Street, 10P).

• When: June 23 at 10:00 pm.
• Activities: Arlequín company organizes a fire show followed by a wish burning for children.
• Exact location: Santa Eugenia Park.

Latina District:Bonfires: Big bonfire in Cornisa Park, next to the church of San Francisco el Grande, organized by La Corrala association.

• When: June 23, starting at 11:00 pm.
• Activities: Live music with local bands and the start of outdoor summer cinema at Bombilla Park.
• Exact location: Cornisa Park.

Vicálvaro District:Bonfires: Bonfire at the neighborhood’s fairground, coordinated by the Neighborhood Association.

• When: June 23 at midnight.
• Activities: Concerts (like Maldita Nerea), foam party with firefighters, and children’s activities. The festivities run from June 23 to 26.
• Exact location: This year, it returns to its traditional location at the corner of Polideportivo Promenade and Arroyo del Hoyo Street.

Municipalities of the Community of Madrid

San Sebastián de los Reyes:Bonfires: Bonfire at Marina Park.

• When: June 23 at midnight, with an audiovisual and musical display.
• Activities: Children’s wish route (8:30 pm), DJ, shows, and free tasting of queimada (up to 300 servings).
• Exact location: Marina Park.

Alcobendas:Bonfires: Bonfire at Andalucía Park.

• When: June 23, starting at 11:00 pm.
• Activities: Torch parade, live Celtic music, family workshops, and fantasy makeup from 8:00 pm.
• Exact location: Andalucía Park.

Tres Cantos:Bonfires: Bonfire at Family Square.

• When: June 23, from 11:00 pm to midnight.
• Activities: Queimada by the Galician Center, fire show with jugglers, Bollywood dances, drumming, and fireworks on June 24 at 11:00 pm at the Central Park Lake. The patron saint festivities include concerts by Beret (June 20) and Álvaro de Luna (June 21).

Boadilla del Monte:Bonfires: Bonfire at the Fairground.

• When: June 23, starting at 9:30 pm.
• Activities: 9:30 pm Concert by The Hot Tubes; 11:40 pm Performance by Ara de Boadilla, from Carmina Villar’s dance school; 11:50 pm Performance by Pilar Domínguez’s dance school; 12:00 am Lighting of the San Juan bonfire; 12:05 am Back DJ performance.

Leganés:Bonfires: Bonfire in the esplanade of Beja Street, next to the burning of a falla.

• When: June 23, starting at 11:00 pm.
• Activities: Celtic music concerts, fireworks display, and DJ sessions.

San Fernando de Henares:Bonfires: Bonfire at Plaza de España.

• When: June 23 at midnight.
• Activities: Performances by the Municipal School of Music and Dance, observation of the «San Juan Moon» with telescopes (10:30 pm at Plaza Fábrica de Paños), witches’ spell casting (11:45 pm), and folk music.

Alcalá de Henares:Bonfires: Bonfire at Juan de Austria Park.

• When: June 23, starting at 11:00 pm.
• Activities: 8:00 pm – Concert by musical group Casamarela; 10:00 pm – Concert of ‘Essential the music of ABBA’. Tribute to the ABBA group.

Valdemorillo:Bonfires: Bonfire at Juan de Austria Park.
