The Community of Madrid will maintain the alert to the population this Friday due to the arrival of an African air mass to the region that affects air quality and the health of the population, especially the most vulnerable.
According to information provided by the Center for Energy, Environmental, and Technological Research (CIEMAT), surface dust concentrations in the central area of the Iberian Peninsula could reach between 5 and 50 micrograms/cubic meter.
Madrid remains on alert this Friday for heat with temperatures close to 40 degrees
The expected entry of African air, with surface dust concentrations, can affect the health of the population, especially the most vulnerable individuals.
In this regard, Madrid Salud advises the population to avoid outdoor physical exercise and, in case of respiratory difficulty, seek a health center or call 112.
Additionally, in order to reduce particle levels in the ambient air, the population is recommended to use public transportation.
