This morning, the second edition of the Farinato Race was presented at the Ciudad Deportiva Valdelasfuentes, the most important obstacle race circuit in Spain, which returns to Alcobendas, European City of Sport 2025, on April 12 and 13. The event is expected to surpass three thousand registered participants with an increase in female participation close to 45%.
The Sports Councilor, Jesús Tortosa, who was present at the presentation alongside Rubén Morán, one of the organizers, stated, «It is an honor for our city to host this race again, which will be a great sports celebration to which all families, young and old, are invited.»
The race includes several categories so that everyone can participate, challenge themselves, and have fun. From the ‘Elite’ and ‘Competitive by Teams’ categories for those aged 16 and above, to the ‘Young Farinatos’ (13 to 17 years old), ‘Farinatitos’ (4 to 12 years old), ‘Family Day’ (4 to 99 years old), each with a tailored course ranging from 300 meters for the youngest to 13 kilometers for the higher categories. Additionally, a new inclusive category for athletes with disabilities is introduced this season.
Changes in the Route
This year, the Farinato Race, which starts and ends at the parking lot of the Municipal Sports Center José Caballero in front of the European University of Madrid, has removed the stream section from its route. The race preparations will be done the same week, cleaning the entire area before placing the various obstacles.
Participants will have to overcome straight and inclined walls, pyramids, rope climbs, balance beams at height, loads (sacks, buckets, and logs), electric wires, mud trenches, and drags, among other obstacles. The races will be accompanied by streaming, a giant LED screen, and a food truck fair.
